Li Yong was born in Chongqing where he lives and works and graduated from the from the Oil Painting Department of the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts. Founding member of the Li Chuan Group together with Li Chuan and Ren Qian. Participated in the Long March, A Walking Visual Display project with Entering/Exiting. Other exhibitions have included the Biennale of Contemporary Chinese Art (Montpellier, France), Archaeology of Future: the Second Triennial Chinese Art (Nanjing), The Second Guiyang Biennial Contemporary Exhibition (Guiyang) and On-Going Contemporary Art Show (Shenzhen).
