Ren Qian was born in Chongqing where he lives and works and graduated from the form Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1995. Founding member of the Li Chuan Group together with Li Chuan and Li Yong. Participated in the Long March, A Walking Visual Display project with Boundary. Other exhibitions have included the Biennale of Contemporary Chinese Art (Montpellier, France), Archaeology of Future: the Second Triennial Chinese Art (Nanjing), The Second Guiyang Biennial Contemporary Exhibition (Guiyang) and Chinese Building Site Contemporary Art Exhibition (Chongqing Museum of Art).
